A Switch From Agriculture To Industry
The Revolution
The first American Industrial Revolution took place during the 1790's and lasted until the mid 1800's or to the American Civil War. It was a time of transformation in the country where Thomas Jefferson's dream of an agricultural America started to fade, and industry, as it did in Britain, started to take over. In the process, new inventions were made that revolutionized the country, and life in the United States of America changed forever due to a switch from home production to factory production.
Industry
Industry basically is the term used to represent factories or forms of mechanized production. During the first American Industrial Revolution, factory life started to take control over farming, and a new vision of America was achieved.
