Samuel Slater
Samuel Slater brought the first pieces of textile mill technology to the United States in the 1790's. From that point on, textile mills started to advance in technology and, eventually, advanced into large factories that would make it possible to even buy pre-made clothing, something unheard of to families used to making their own clothing.
